Rangeley Lake State Park features a roped-in, sandy swim area.
The Rangeley Lakes Region lakes, ponds and rivers afford numerous swimming opportunities. Visitors will appreciate the cool, clear waters the region has to offer! In addition to the two public swimmings areas below, many vacation rentals and campgrounds offer excellent swimming…from sandy or small pebbly beaches to docks and swim floats. The areas’ waters are rocky so diving is absolutely not recommended!
Lakeside Park: Located on Main Street (Route 4) in Rangeley, this park is free and features a sandy beach, dock with a slide, lifeguards (11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather permiting during the summer months), boat launch area, swings, covered picnic tables a changing/restroom building and a large, newly landscaped lawn area. Rangeley Lake State Park: Located off South Shore Drive on the southern shore of Rangeley Lake, the state park charges a nominal day-use fee. Visitors can enjoy a sandy swim area, children’s play area, picnic tables and short trails hugging the shore. Lifeguards are provided, and restrooms are available. No dogs are allowed in the beach area.
