Bertrand Lambert (1936 – 2022)

PHILLIPS – Bertrand Lambert passed away at his home in his sleep the morning of January 7, 2022. He was 85. On Oct. 16, 1936, Bert was born in Rumford, to Alyre and Irene Lambert. The way he would tell the story to his grandchildren, his birth put an end to the Great Flood of 1936

Janet Waugaman Hammond (1959-2022)

DALLAS PLANTATION – Janet Waugaman, loving wife and devoted mother, died peacefully at her home in the Rangeley area on Wednesday, Jan. 5, surrounded by her family. Janet passed after a courageous battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy, a fast-progressing form of Parkinsonism. She was an extremely strong, courageous, and brave woman.

Leora M. Churchill (1939 – 2021 )

NEW VINEYARD – Leora M. Churchill passed away on December 18, 2021, at the age of 82. She was born on July 25, 1939 in East Madrid, Maine, to Victor and Shirley McLaughlin. Leora attended schools in Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School in June of 1958.

Cecil Kendall (1929-2021)

CHESTERVILLE – Cecil Kendall, 91, of Chesterville, passed peacefully at his home on December 11, 2021. He was born in Farmington on December 18, 1929. Cecil grew up in West Farmington and attended Farmington schools and UMF. On May 25, 1950, he married his beloved wife Ann. Together they raised 6 children while living in Starks and Farmington.

Reta E. Whinery (1929-2021)

WILTON – Reta Elizabeth Whinery, 92, of Wilton, died on Friday afternoon, Dec. 10, 2021 at her home. She was born in Abbot, May 25, 1929, a daughter of Ruel (Baxter) and Hazel Mae (Mayo) Orff, Sr., and graduated from Wilton Academy in 1947. She raised her family in Wilton and Hampden, and when her children were older, attended Husson College for a year and went to work for Bell Telephone in Bangor for 21 years, retiring in 1985 and relocating back to Wilton shortly thereafter

Rosalee C. Bubier (1946-2021)

PHILLIPS – Rosalee Coolidge Bubier, 75, of Phillips, passed away on Nov. 21, 2021, at Sandy River Center in Farmington. She was born on Feb.

David L. Reed (1937-2021)

STRONG – David L. Reed, 84, of Strong, passed away on November 13, 2021, at Sandy River Center in Farmington. He was born in Salem, Maine on June 1, 1937 to Mildred Reed. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1956. David served his country in the U.S

Lorna Storer (1957-2021)

FARMINGTON – Lorna Storer, 64, formerly of Phillips, passed away on Nov. 1, 2021 at Sandy River Center in Farmington. She was born on Sept. 30, 1957, in Rumford, daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Haley) Jepson. Lorna was a homemaker most of her life.

Thornton “Red” O. Witham (1942-2021)

EAST WILTON – Thornton “Red” O. Witham, 79, passed away at home on October 15, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born in the back seat of the car on the way to the hospital on June 13, 1942 in Farmington, son of Dional and Ida (Pray) Witham.

William C. Gile, 91

KENTUCKY – William C. Gile, 91, formerly of Rangeley, Maine, passed away on Aug. 20, 2021. Bill was the only son, along with six older sisters, born to Carroll and Florence Gile of Rangeley.
