RANGELEY — Quimby Pond is small, shallow and picturesque. Three years ago in 2009, a gleotrichia algal bloom in the pond raised the concern of both residents and town officials. They and representatives from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife gathered for a roundtable discussion to discuss the water quality issues.
